Toyota Interview Process

The hiring process at Toyota

Toyota has had its recent blunders involving recalls. In fact every time you turn on the news you hear of another recall. Toyota still remains a global car manufacturing giant and might always be one. The culture at Toyota is what sets it apart from other car manufacturers.

One of the key parts of the Toyota hiring process is the intense behavioral interview that employees face. Behavioral interviewing is setting a huge precedence in the interviewing world. The basic principle of this type of interview process is that your past behaviors are going to predict your future behaviors.

All or most of the questions you face will deal with past behaviors

Here are a few that you might face

Tell me about a time that you set a goal and what you did to acheive your goal?

Tell me about a time you had to make a difficult decision?

Tell me about a time you had to make a decision that was not favorable to others?

Toyota wants you to think out of the box and think for yourself. They want to hire top people that work hard and are smart. They run the company similiar to Jack Welsh at General Electric. They hire and keep only the best and that is why they are so successful.

The Toyota management interview process involves a video on their culture but more importantly a real life situation in which your skills are tested to see if you can do the job you are interviewing for. Toyota likes to mold individuals to the Toyota way so many promotions happen from within. Toyota employees are continually receiving training to educate themselves and stay on top of their games. I wish you luck with your Toyota interview. Remember to stay confident and go in as familiar with the Toyota culture as possible.
