Downtown Los Angeles has made a resurgence, it use to be pretty bad. It is still is a highly industrial area but no longer a ghost town at night.

In the past it was full of homeless people slumming the streets and begging for money at night. What created this hip seen was the erection of the Staple's Center, home of the Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers. Since then the Los Angeles downtown scene has flourished. Everywhere you look a new business is popping up and the people that work downtown are loving it.

My favorite thing about the Edison is the nickle drink they provide, yeah you heard me right. I am not sure if this is a daily thing or if it was just a promo. When you go in they give you a little token which represents a nickel. This token gets you the specialty drink of the night for five cents. You can always call ahead and find out if they are doing this the particular night you plann on going.

The Edison Bar Downtown is built in an old industrial power plant. That is why it is called the Edison after Southern California Edison the electricity company. What makes the Edison so great is its diversity. It features a game room where you can shoot a little stick and lay back. It also has a great dance floor where you can boogie all night! The architecture is amazing and it gives you a real feeling of being back in the 1930's my only advice is don't call any of the girls there a dame. I hope you have a chance to see the Edison, it is truly one of LA's best bars.
