The interview process at Shire obviously starts with sending in your resume. This can be like sending your resume into the black hole of cyberspace. I would almost always recommend using a recruiter unless you know someone directly at Shire.

The next step is that you will receive a call from an internal recruiter who asks you some questions to better gauge Shire's interest in you. The internal recruiter's job is ot hire people so they want you to be good. This should give you a little extra boost of confidence going in.

The recruiters call deals with basic work history questions, salary requirements and a few situational questions. They just want to see if you are a good fit. They will give you information on a particular drug they want you to sell, so you can do research for the phone interview.

The phone interview is intense but not as intense as the face to face. The phone interview consists of behavioral interviewing questions as well as business related questions. They want to make sure you are ready to take on quotas and can handle the pressure.

The next step is the face to face interview.

The face to face is a in your face type interview. Doctors don't have much time and you have to be able to get to them and have their attention. The people at Shire want you to sell them on your ability to do this. If the doctors says no and you say okay you lose the chance to work at Shire. Make sure you find a way to sell the doctor during the role-plays. You have to close the interviewer and tell them how much you want the job! Follow all these tips and you will do great on the Shire Pharma interview.
