Why can't I get a job at Walmart? This is a frustrating question to some people who have not been able to seal the deal and get hired at a Walmart store. Walmart has been a global leader for years and continues to grow and add more products or additons to their stores. The nice part about Walmart is that they do create a great amount of jobs and are friendly to hiring senior citizens. It is a great company to look at when looking for companies that hire senior citizens. Every time I go to Walmart I am greeted by a warm welcome at the door and it is usually a senior.

Let's look at a few things you can do to finally get that job at Walmart.

• Dress appropriately. I have seen people go in to casual when going to fill out an application or even an interview. You should always at the very least where business casual clothes.
• Meet the manager. Filing out an application can be like sending a resume into a black hole. If you can meet the manager you increase your chances of getting hired probably by 90 percent. Meeting the manager allows the manager to put a face with the resume. You become a person and not just a resume.
• The hiring process could either be a group interview where you get hired on the spot or it could take two to three interviews. This all depends on the particular area you are interviewing in. Be prepared for a background check and a drug test.
• Bring your resume and your references, also bring a pen. This will show that you are prepared and organized.
