Frustrated With Google Adsense?

By

Google Headquarters

Are you frustrated with Google Adsense? Do you want to learn how to make money with Adsense? When I first thought about writing on this topic, I felt like I was just re-writing the same old article. The reason I decided to touch on this subject again is because of all the feedback I see. I can tell many of you are frustrated with your returns and are looking for answers.

Here are a few rules to keep in mind when trying to make money with Google Adsense.

1. Work with your ad placement- Move your ads around see what works best for you. You can try different ad sizes. Typically, I prefer the regular ads vs. the link ads. It is all a matter of finding out what works for your articles. Give it at least a week to see the results and make sure you sign up for Google Analytics. The Analytics program gives you details that can greatly impact your Adsense revenue.

2. Content- Make sure you really focus on content. You want it to be original, flow well and be an asset to your reader. I recently wrote an article on asbestos and if you google "How Dangerous is Asbestos" you should see it half way down the first page.

3. Patience- More than likely it is not going to come over night. Make sure you are continuosly writing and adding value to your readers. If people like what you have to offer, they will become your fan and keep up with your work.

4. Learn- Read up as much as you can on search engine optimization. I included a link to a video below make sure you watch it. It is informational, funny and to the point. I have also included two of my articles, you can bookmark them and refer back to them if need be. The first one is what I like to call "The Ten Rules Of Adsense". Remember keep writing and keep working toward your goals. They will come! Remember to watch the video, it will really help!

You will probably think I'm dumber than a brick of cheese but doesn't AdSense just put the ads wherever we have blank spots? I tried going on the forums for a while but was so insulted by some of the things people wrote back I quit going there! I just do my hubs and then every once in a while (only been doing this 2 months) check to see if anything has changed on Google in terms of money and think I'm up to a whopping $1.50. I find so many articles on the hubpages but they most are either over my head or contradictory or confusing from one to the other. Great hub though - and I guess I'll keep stumbling along and hope one of these days I get it!

Hello Akirchner,

On Hubpages you don't have much of a choice where the Google ads go. If you have a website or a blog you can position them in different places. You can also choose the style of ad you want and the size. Another option is to filter ads. For example, if you have a website that sells furniture you can keep all other furniture ads off your site. This way you aren't sending customers elsewhere. I hope this helps.

*nod* Adsense can be a pain. Sometimes you make a lot, sometimes you don't. *sigh* I like steady income.

Brilliant article and many thanks for sharing. I can safely say that I am deeply frustrated at my own lack of knowledge in this department.
