72Here are fifteen things never to do in an interview. They are not ranked in any particular order because doing any of these things no matter how big or how small it will send you packing.
1. Slouching- No one wants to hire a slouch plus you look disinterested when you are slouching.
2. Showing up late- What were you thinking? Never show up late to an interview.
3. The hand shake- You don't want to do the limp fish or the overpowering office brute. Keep a medium pressure shake.
4. Forgeting to turn your cell phone off. We have all seen it in a meeting it is so unprofessional.
5. Talking too much. Don't gibber jabber keep your answers concise.
6. Chewing gum- You don't want to have any sort of distraction from the interview.
7. Overbearing cologne or perfume. You don't want to lay anything on too thick in an interview.
8. Lying about your skills or experience.
9. Not schmoozing the receptionist. They might ask him or her for feedback and if they provide negative information, say goodbye to that job offer.
10. Not doing your homework. You want to go into the interview knowing as much as possible about the position you are applying for and the company.
11. Telling the interviewer about quarrels with a former coworker.
12. Forgetting your resume. This will make it a quick interview but probably not a good one.
13. Selling yourself. Don't forget to toot your own horn at the end. Don't be obnoxious but sell yourself on why you are a good fit for the position.
14. Your experience not matching with correct dates on resume.
15. Asking how much you will make right away.
